Members of the association from across the country are eagerly looking forward to our April National Convention, and it is in this time, we should reflect upon what truly is the essence of the Australian Natives’ Association and how is it distinguished from other organisations that have operated on a broad patriotic platform both historically and to this day.
Beyond the constitutional and governance issues which have been discussed at length in other articles, our organisation at its heart, is more than a mere political pressure group, it is a fraternal organisation, bound by shared values and principles which ultimately assert for the advancing of the native-born Australian people, the naturalised European, principally British descent people in Australia which have over the course of years transformed into a unique ethnic group.
Beyond our public advocacy for the founding principles of our Commonwealth, we are, as an organisation, the bedrock from which we can, as did the organisation of old, improve the real lives and circumstances of our members. We are not merely a forum to debate ideas and argue over issues, or lament the state of the nation; we are focused on increasing the position of our members intellectually, morally and practically.
Practically, we seek to ensure all of our members have meaningful careers and professions, ultimately with the view of cultivating a class of men who are not only credible as leaders of our nation, but competent in the craft of task, resource and people management. Vital skills in the future where our adversaries will continue to challenge our welfare on this continent.
More than the improvement of our members individually, the association provides the bedrock through which financial resources can be confidently accumulated and put to task; as in the case of many of our branches who offer cash bonuses to new parents to help them in the purchase of their first cot, pram and baby clothes; further our institutional funds are used to finance the re-training of people down on their luck, to be sponsored through a course which might provide secure and meaningful employment; and further to this, we sponsor students in critical areas such as law, to improve our institutional access to lawyers which will inevitably be necessary to engage in outspoken political advocacy in today’s Orwellian fantasy.
Further to all of these things, more than applying mere pressure by whipping up outrage or intellectual gratification on political ideas, we are committed to future-proofing the welfare of our nation. Regardless of the destiny of this continent on a broader scale, we will ensure, through our institution, that there will be a secure future for our people; that through the strategic acquisition of real property, businesses and influence in the arts, law and politics over time will ensure a stable and prepared institution is ready and able to react to change and support the welfare of our people through the hard times to come.
This stable, anti-fragile institution with competent people and resources will also be the best chance at engaging in political and meta-political struggle against the current occupiers of the state and its institutions as we will be able to ensure that our members who engage in outspoken advocacy will be supported and defended by the machinery of our institution, and will be better positioned to advance our ideas and support our cause.
Our institution will outlive us all, no one hero or member keeps this organisation afloat. It belongs to all of us, and it is through this institution, that we build, both physically and metaphysically; the roads and bridges that our grandchildren will walk upon, the homes that they sleep in and the industries through which they are employed and the castles to which they will turn their heads in our nations time of need.
We are too often wound up in the moment, and can feel compelled to over-react to the constant demoralisation machine that the media runs. We need to stop and take a look at what we’ve already accomplished in this last 10 years and as we look forward to the national convention, bear in mind what makes us different, special and so vital; we shall all bear afresh in mind that every man who plays a role in our institution, no matter how small, is immortalised in the history of our nation, as a servant of the nation, for the welfare of the nation.
